Is Facebook Ads or Google Ads better for a Shopify store conversion rate?

Asked 3 years ago

My understanding is that Facebook ads appear on Facebook only, and Google ads appear everywhere. Does that mean google ads have more reach than Facebook ads?

Facebook Ads and Google Ads are both pay-per-click advertising platforms, known for their specific benefits for a Shopify store. Facebook shows ads to masses who are interested in your offerings. In contrast, Google Adwords offers your store as a recommendation to the audience searching for that particular goods/services.

It is recommended to try both Google ads and Facebook ads to increase the ROI - Both platforms work well. With their distinct advantages, either one of them will automatically outcast the other one by performing better.

However, if you want to be specific and test one of these advertising platforms, your choice is dependent upon a few factors:

  • What kind of reach are you seeking.
  • What advertising budget can you afford.
  • Who is your targeted audience?
  • Which type of advertising campaign do you want to run.
  • How would you describe your activity? (Because some products aren't allowed to advertise on Facebook/Google)

Study the market and determine what your target audience actually wants, where they are mostly found, and what interests them the most. Hence, you will find out which platform is best to advertise your Shopify store.

In a Nutshell:

If you want to create brand awareness and recognition of your Shopify store, Facebook Advertising is the way to go, but if you wish to directly meet targeted customers to increase your sales and conversion rates, opt for Google Ads.
