How to increase the Facebook ads budget cap?

Asked 4 years ago

My ad account has reached its daily budget limit and I want to send more traffic to my Shopify store. Does anyone know why I have a budget cap and how to increase it?

There are two ways to manage your Facebook ad budgets. The first way is by using the account spending limit which is an adjustable limit that controls the budget for your entire account. This means that your ads will stop running when they hit the spending limit set by you. Please note that to change this amount you must be the admin for the account and that changes take around 15 minutes to update.

Here is a step-by-step guide to change the account spending limit.

1) Under Ad Account Settings, find your Payment Settings.

2) Find the Account Spending Limit and click the 3-dot icon.

3) Click change and enter a new spending limit.

4) Click save then done to confirm your new limit.

The second way to manage your ad budgets is by changing either the daily or lifetime budgets that control specific ad sets or campaigns.

Daily Budgets are the amount that you want to spend on an ad each day. This ensures that your budget is spread evenly throughout the month. It is more of a flexible limit as Facebook will run your ads when they think they will perform best, for example at a specific time of day. Because of this, the price could increase on a particualr day but will average out throughout the month.

Lifetime Budgets are the total amount you want to spend on that particular ad campaign. They are effective immediately and are a hard cap rather than an average meaning you will not exceed a certain amount. This is great if you have a tight budget that you do not want to go over.

To change the budget you will need to:

1) Go to the Ads Manager.

2) Hover over the ad set or campaign that you would like to change the budget for and select edit.

3) From here you can change the budget and finalise it by clicking publish then close.
