Has anybody here used the Bold Upsell app?

No, Bold Upsell doesn't change the domain name to your own domain without your will. It appears that you've confused the app name here from "Bold Cashier" to "Bold Upsell." Bold Cashier lets you pick a custom hostname at the checkout process. You can use Bold Upsell for other features outside the standard checkout process.
