What is the easiest way to track stock taken out of inventory to be given to influencers/promotions?

I am going to take stock out of our inventory to give to an influencer to do their thing. What is the easiest way to do this which can then be tracked back to it being stock for promotional/influencer purposes? I was going to create a code for 100% discount and then check it out myself, but not sure if that is the best way to go.

Don't use the 100% discount trick, as it will mess up your financial reporting if you're going to do such promotional campaigns a lot.
Instead, I'd recommend you try using a 3rd-party app like POS to add a note to each promotional discount. Thus, you can easily record and track it even after ten years.
