How do you market and upsell to people who have already bought from your Shopify store?

I have heard that it is much easier to sell products to customers who have previously purchased from your store than it is to gain new customers from scratch. So how do I increase Shopify customer LTV (lifetime value)?

It is definitely much easier to get customers to return to your store than it is to find new customers, as these return customers are already familiar and interested in your brand and products.

I would recommend that you start measuring your customers' lifetime value and aim to improve their lifetime value by increasing the average order value per customer, as well as increasing the number of orders each customer places over time.

Email marketing is a great retargeting tool which converts well, has a high open-rate and can be automated. Using an email marketing system or tool, you can set up a number of different email marketing series, which will be automatically sent out to customers when they perform certain actions, such as make a purchase, visit your website, add items to their cart, etc.

You can also use email marketing to target customers by sending them promotions or discounts for products which complement a product which they have already purchased.
