How do I claim and verify my Shopify store website on Google Merchant Center?

If I happened to find my store on the Google Merchant Center but didn't sync it myself, is there a way that I can claim and verify it to control it myself?

You can claim your Shopify store on the Google Merchant Centre by logging in directly and clicking the gear icon in the top right corner. From there click 'Business Information', 'Website', then 'Claim Your Website'. Follow the steps that they prompt you to do and click 'Verify URL' or 'Verify Website'.
