PayPal payment options on my Shopify store

Can I offer PayPal at checkout without having PayPal express checkout for Shopify? I don't want to have to set up PayPal express checkout for my Shopify store and would prefer a way around this. It keeps telling me I need to "finish setting up my PayPal account".

You don’t need to set up a PayPal Express checkout Shopify account by yourself. Shopify automatically creates a PayPal Express checkout for you as soon as you specify your email.
However, if Shopify PayPal is not working for you, you can use Shopify’s own payment gateway. Or you can add a Shopify PayPal smart button to allow customers to use alternative payment options such as PayPal Credit, Venmo etc.
