How to Set up Free Shipping on Shopify
Learn how to set up free shipping on your Shopify store, the benefits of offering free shipping and why you should consider carrier-calculated shipping rates.

Setting up free shipping on your Shopify store is simple and can be done in just a few easy steps:
- In your Shopify admin, go to “Settings”.
- Click on “Shipping and Delivery”.
- Next to the shipping profile for which you would like to add free shipping, select “Manage Rates”.
- Next to the shipping zone for which you would like to provide free shipping, select “Add Rate”.
- Enter a name for the selected rate.
- Ensure that the value of the “Price” field is Nil (0).
- You will then have the option to add weight-based or value-based conditions. In order to do this, you will need to: - Select “Add Conditions”. - Decide whether the condition will be based on weight or value. - Enter the minimum and maximum values for the selected condition.
- Click “Done”.
- Click “Save”.
If you are apprehensive about offering completely free shipping to customers, it is advised that you set up third-party carrier-calculated shipping rates on your Shopify store, as customers will have access to more affordable and accurate shipping rates.
