Should I focus on domestic US shipping or international as a new store?

Hi, I’m about to start my first store, not dropship, not pod, I will ship the product. Does it make sense to choose only US market and no international shipping or both? I would like to aim free shipping option, but if I build in the international shipping fee, firstly the product price is going to be much higher secondly: I need to increase for US customers as well.
