Can carrier calculated shipping be enabled on all US Shopify plans for free?

I read somewhere that carrier calculated shipping can be enabled on all US Shopify plans for free. Is this true?

Yes, it is true. I ended up building my own shipping calculator, but I might do away with that and use the USPS free carrier calculated shipping option. I'm about to move all of my inventory to Amazon for fulfillment, where the shipping costs are way more predictable.
