Customer entered the wrong shipping address on Shopify

Hi Shopify merchants.

Every month, a few of our customers enter the wrong shipping address, and until they realize it it’s too late - The courier can’t find the address and returns the package or the customer calls the courier and corrects the address. Should the customer or us bear the costs?

We always bear the cost, whether it’s reshipping an order, sending a new order, changing address, replacing items, etc. You must do so because if you don’t, you’ll lose the customer and their friends. Use the Address Validator app. It will ensure the validity of the addresses that your customers input. I.e., a customer may have recently moved, and then they put their old address on the parcel. It is a correct address, but the package is not going to reach them. A customer can enter a correct address but the wrong country. Again, a valid address, but definitely not the right one.
