How much does Shopify take per sale of an item?

Shopify charges a transaction fee whenever a sale is made through the platform. For the Basic Shopify plan, they charge 2.9% + 30¢ per online credit card transaction. If you're using the Advanced Shopify plan, the charges drop to just half a percentage point to 2.4% + $0.30. Moreover, there are no additional transaction fees if you use Shopify Payments.
