How do I tag gift orders on Shopify?

When customers buy gifts for other people they enter a shipping address that's different from their billing address. I'm having difficulties tagging orders where the shipping and billing addresses are different. I haven't found a way to get this data out of my customers and I want to tag these orders as gifts.

Try adding a customer note at the checkout. Thus, customers can identify the gift order for you by themselves. This note feature is usually built-in in the majority of Shopify themes. You can also try using an app like Order Tagger and see if it accurately distinguishes the gift orders for you.
