What is the difference between Google My Business vs Google Merchant Center?

Asked 4 years ago

Trying to understand if Google My Business and Google Merchant Center are two different platforms and what are the differences between the two. Are the requirements any different between a Google My Business and Google Merchant Center Account and how do this relate to Shopify?

Google My Business is a tool that allows you to set up a profile for your business to be displayed on Google Search and Maps. Google Merchant Centre makes it easier to upload shop and product information/images to Google. To create a Merchant page, you must have a verified website and business within Google My Business.

Yes, there is a difference between Google my Business vs Google Merchant Center.

Google My Business Shopify is a sales channel where sellers create their business profiles. GMB helps businesses reach more audiences by showing their listings in Google Search and Maps.

So – what is google merchant center? Google Merchant Center is a family of features that helps manage and optimise product listings on Google.

To set up a GMB profile, you must have a physical outlet, while for signing up on Google Merchant Center, all you need is a Google Account.

At first glance, order processing seems like a behind-the-scenes function, but it really is critical to the overall customer experience. Reason: Speed of delivery has become a key driver of customer experience in digital retail. However, delivery can only be made if the order processing goes smoothly. Outsourcing can help you with this, as this area is exactly what specializes in this.
