What does it mean when a product is MAP protected?

I found a product that I think will be good in my Shopify store, but it says that it is MAP protected. What does this mean?

Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) refers to the lowest price you can advertise any product for sale. This policy is an agreement between a retailer and distributor not to promote the product price below the contract's agreed price.
The MAP policy is primarily purposed to benefit everyone from producers to distributors and retailers. This policy includes incentives for both parties. In case of terms violation by any party, it can lead to legal consequences.
