If I deactivate Paypal express checkout, is that stopping customers from using Paypal as a check method?

If you deactivate Paypal express, customers purchasing from your site will still be able to use Paypal as a payment method at the checkout. You can also remove Paypal as a payment option altogether, but I would strongly advise against doing so, as it is the preferred payment method of many consumers.
