We sell our products both wholesale and through Shopify. We stock inventory at our warehouse for both online and wholesale. Right now we manage inventory on our Quickbooks Enterprise system, and we do it biweekly. It is getting to be very time-consuming, and it's always off. We don't use Shopify inventory because we don't sell wholesale through Shopify. How often do you do inventory?

Tackle the challenge of seasonal inventory management. Discover four ways to prevent losses and drive growth for e-commerce success.
Inventory management is a huge pain point for us. We create our products in-house (handmade jewelry), so it’s a specific sort of situation with needing to source materials and parts. Also, I’m managing two product catalogs, one for wholesale and one for retail, but the products are the same in each. We use Locksmith to create the hidden wholesale ordering system for our buyers. Obviously, the wholesale catalog has different pricing, and we just set the stock levels really high so they’re never “out of stock.” We don’t maintain separate stock for wholesale/retail. Generally, wholesale orders are made to order with several weeks delivery time, but if the product is in stock, we pull it for wholesale order fulfillment. Which means it’s not in stock for retail purchases. ugh. I searched previous posts for advice on inventory management and found several interesting reads. Does anyone have a solution to make this more efficient? Any suggestions for inventory management specific to handmade products via wholesale and retail channels? Thanks!
