Does price skimming allow for market fluctuation?

Asked 2 years ago

I have some elastic products in my store, and I wondered whether price skimming would also provide price elasticity?

Price skimming works remarkably well for products with an inelastic demand curve. It means the product is not highly responsive to a change in price. In general, most necessity goods fall under the inelastic demand category. Similarly, luxurious and branded goods also fall in this category as their customers are the upper-class group of society — and the price is not a prominent factor in their buying decision.

Conversely, if a product follows an elastic demand curve, price skimming may not be an ideal strategy to adopt. In such a situation, a fall in prices will lead to an increase in demand and vice versa, leading to fluctuations in sales.

When a new sort of product enters the market, price skimming is frequently practiced.

The idea is to make as much money as possible when customer demand is high and there is no competition on the market. From what you said, I am not sure that your product is new, but you could try to apply this technique. If you have a website, use it there as well. If not, you could ask https://transformagency.com/ for some help, they are specialized in making this kind of websites and have a big experience in it.
